PLAR credits are based on learning you have done outside of the typical classroom. This learning is verified through the documentation you provide in the application. Your work and life experiences are valued and can be used to bring you to within 4 credits of graduating. All adult students must complete a minimum of 4 credits in Ontario in order to obtain their OSSD. Some students, depending on life experience and the number of compulsory credits completed prior to attending St. Louis, may be required to complete more than 4 credits to meet all diploma requirements.
If you are an adult student and meet the following criteria you may be eligible for PLAR credits
18 on or after Jan 1st of the current school year
and had fewer than 26 credits prior to arriving at St. Louis
and are registered in a credit course with the intent of obtaining the OSSD
