- H2R Presentation: Blindness and Sonnet
- Review poetry structures & elements through examples:
- Robert Frost's "Design"
- Sharon Old's "Alcatraz"
Homework:
1. Bring your favorite poem to class on Wednesday
Tuesday, September 17:
1. How to pick a poem apart...TP-CASTT
2. Practice with "To an athlete dying young" and "Daddy" (in Norton Anthology)
Homework:
Finish TP-CASTT with Daddy to turn review tomorrow
Wednesday, September 18:
- Share out favorite poem's and why they are beloved :)
- Each group will 'nominate' one poem that they appreciate the most
- Further Practice with TP-CASTT using D.H. Lawrence's Snake.
- First, analyze
- Then, write a thesis and outline
- Prompt: "Read the following poem carefully. Then write an essay in which you discuss how formal elements as language, imagery, structure, and allusions convey meaning in the poem."

Thursday, September 19:
- Combine it all together!
- Station based rotations: Poem Speed Dating
- Analyze and rate each poem
- Station based rotations: Poem Speed Dating
- Write a brief outline on your poem of choice - respond with a thesis and three pieces of evidence to support it (same prompt as yesterday)

1. Review Fences Essay with reflections
2. Time for Poetry Exploration: Pick a poem from a time period and analyze

1. None :) Do another poetry exploration if you have the time - you should have about three at this point
