Well done. It appears that you have completed the basic component of your HISTORY research task. Now - for extra credit - here are some further questions to explore. Please attempt to have your presentation (or a new presentation) address these questions:
a)
In class you have examined the impact that British colonisation had on Australian Indigenous peoples. Can you find another example of colonisation that impacted an indigenous group elsewhere internationally? Who were the colonisers? Who were the indigenous group? Where and when did this take place? What was the impact?
b)
In class you have examined different types of relationships between the Australian Aboriginals and British colonists. Some of these relationships were positive. Some were negative. Identify a different colonizing and indigenous group. (I suggest that you use the groups identified in part 'a' above.) Identify and explore at least two key relationships between these groups. Which indigenous individual have you identified? Which coloniser have you identified? What type of relationship did they have? Give a brief overview….
Examples for research include:
The American Natives, and the colonising British (this would be a fine choice to examine)
Here is a website to start to get a sense of things: https://www.ducksters.com/history/native_americans.php
Here is a Youtube video which give 's a useful snapshot of the relations between the British and Native Americans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTYOQ05oDOI
Please note: this work is simply for extra credit! You can still achieve an A simply by completing the original project!
