Bushfires - A and B level project
You are to research a bushfire event of your own selection.
It can be an international event.
You will present your findings and work 3-5 minutes to the class via a google slide or video presentation.
Your presentation must address these questions and elements:
LEVEL ONE - KNOWLEDGE
- Who was involved in this bushfire?
- What started this bushfire?
- When did this bushfire occur?
- Where was this bush-fire
LEVEL TWO - COMPREHENSION
- What difference exist between this bushfire, and the Victorian bushfires of 2006?
- Put in order the key events of this bushfire.
LEVEL THREE - APPLICATION
- Give an example of another bushfire similar to this one. Why?
- Could this type of fire have happened in NSW? Why? (Ignore if your fire is in NSW already.)
- What is the key lesson to be learnt from this bushfire event? Why?
LEVEL FOUR - ANALYSIS
- What are the main parts of features of a bushfire?
- Are there different types of bushfire? If so, what type of bushfire was this one?
LEVEL FIVE - SYNTHESIS
- What solutions would you suggest for events like this?
- How would you create/design a new fire fighting system for a fire like this?
LEVEL SIX - EVALUATION
- How would you determine if this was a ‘good’ bushfire, or a ‘bad’ one? In your opinion, which one was it?
- What were the key negative impacts of this bushfire? And….were there any positive elements to come out of this bushfire? Were there any benefits?
