How did this project help you understand your place in the natural world?
I've never really thought about climate change till now. The fact that a single human like me could possibly contribute to saving the world is mind-blowing. I've realized that my actions play a huge part in whether or not Earth survives and that's motivated me to do the right thing. From now on, I'm going to be trying my best to help this plant live and thrive.
In what ways do you think we have a responsibility as humans to the sustainability of the environment?
Well, first of all, the Earth is our home. It's our responsibility to keep our home clean and safe. If we wanna survive, we're gonna have to take care of the environment. Even, if we're not doing it for the environment, we have to do it for ourselves and the next generation cause without Earth, we would die. So the only responsibility we have isn't just saving the planet, but also saving the lives of others.
What was your favorite part of the project and why?
My favorite part of the project was growing our radish plants. Like I said before, I love growing plants and it was so interesting to watch it grow from seeds to little plants. We even transfered them to a bigger pot and now they've grown incredibly big and healthy. It is so satisfying and heart-warming to watch a new life grow and thrive.
What was the most challenging for you? How did you overcome this?
The most challenging for me were drawing observations. I'm not a very good artist, so I found it difficult to make accurate sketches that actually looked like the plant. Almost all of the time, my sketches would just be weird curvy lines. To overcome this, I started to slow down and really take my time with my sketches. I'd go closer to the plants and take a few minutes to fully observe it from all different direction befoe staritng my sketches. I'd also trace plants onto the paper to get the right size and shape.
