You can rent an instrument from a local music store or purchase an instrument. If you are planning to rent an instrument, you can do so at one of the stores listed below. Zeswitz is the preferred vendor for WCASD.
If you are planning to purchase an instrument, please read everything thoroughly before making a decision. There are plenty of "band and orchestra instruments" for sale on the internet. Cheap instruments become incredibly frustrating as they can be difficult to play, break easily, and at times impossible to repair. This will impact the time the student has to practice and their ability to produce a good sound. Be wary of any instrument with a color finish (ex: pink, blue, purple, etc.) Remember the adage: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
For orchestra, renting is the most practical option because your child will need a fractional size instrument. Rental programs allow you to trade in the instrument for a larger size as your child grows.
