Praise:
Three of the eleven children have been able to return to boarding school. The other 8 should follow shortly as Kenya has decided to open government and boarding schools over the next weeks.
Pray:
Pray that the Valley Light students would hold up under the stress of annual placement tests after going without their normal, rigorous instruction during the pandemic.
Pray for the provision of enough masks to send with these children to school.
Praise:
Teacher Mercy has been back at Valley Light getting the primary-aged home school children back into a routine. She has just completed exams of her own.
Pray:
Pray that her test results are good so that she can continue teaching, and for her energy to be refreshed each day as she manages so many age levels.
Praise:
Construction on the new home in a safer location has resumed once again after many delays through the summer and early fall.
Pray:
Protection for the new construction team, good weather and clear communication for the project to continue and stay on the new schedule and on budget.
Pray:
That the Lord would show His provision and constant presence to the staff and children so that they would be encouraged. As restrictions lift, the devastating impacts of the pandemic in the Mai Mahiu community are increasingly visible. Ask God to provide Valley Light with daily reasons to be upbeat in His care and ways to be a light for the Gospel of Christ among the desperate and hurting around them.
Pray:
That this week, our Just One Africa friend, Amy Churchill, is able to successfully conduct the first water filter distribution at Valley Light since our WCA teachers traveled with her last January. There are almost two thousand names on her waiting list and only a small number of those can be trained on sanitation and hygeine at each distribution. Also, pray for Amy’s safety and health for her return trip.
Praise:
Cece Monroe will be making another visit to both WCA campuses (November 18 and 19) before she returns to Kenya, this time as a full time missionary at the orphanage for CTEN.
Pray:
Pray for her preparations to share with our WCA students about the world of Valley Light Home, her support raising, and her transition to full-time ministry.
