State Level Assessment
North Dakota State Assessment is used for school accountability for growth toward our academic goals.
Grade Levels Tested: grades 3-8, grade 10
District Level Assessments
Types of testing:
Screeners: Testing screeners are used on all students in order to provide snapshot information on our student population as well as alert us to students who may benefit from additional testing.
Diagnostics: Diagnostic testing is done to discover what skills struggling students need instruction and practice with.
Progress Monitoring: Progress monitoring is used when a student is receiving an intervention in order to assess if the intervention is working.
STAR
Given to students in grades K-12 as a testing screener
IXL
Used for students in grades K-12 as a testing screener and a program that students can use to learn and review skills.
WIDA-Access Tests
Educators use ACCESS results, along with other WIDA resources, to make decisions about students' English academic language and to facilitate their language development.
AimsWeb Plus
Used as a testing screener, diagnostic tool, and progress monitor.
Building Level Assessment-Preschool
Peli Assessment
The Preschool Early Literacy Indicators (PELI) is an assessment for 3- to 5-year-olds designed to measure pre-literacy and oral language skills.
Building Level Assessments-Elementary
Diagnostic testing supplies teachers with more information for students who scored below benchmark on the given screener. These assessments would showcase more specific skills that the student is missing and suggest what skills need to be addressed with that particular student.
Phonological Awareness Screening Test (PAST)
Used as a Phonological Awareness screener to determine student phonological needs.
Quick Phonics Assessment (QPA)/Quick Spelling Inventory (QSA)
Used as a diagnostic tool in order to determine student skill needs.
