The 8th grade English curriculum focuses on the discussion of various themes utilizing novels, short stories, poems, non-fiction, and drama. Thematic units include Moral Dilemmas, Courageous Choices, The Civil Rights Movement, Ingroup Bias, and Myths. We focus on all aspects of the writing process, including grammar, punctuation, and editing. In addition to reading and writing, we also focus on improving listening and critical thinking skills.
