This gear list provides a recommendation of gear that will be useful during your son’s Outdoor Education trips this year

Recommended Gear List

· Thermal long johns and long johns and long sleeve tops made of polypropylene or merino wool – for caving, overnight camping, tramping

· Fleece top - for caving trips, overnight trips, and all other trips in cold weather

· Rain coat – For every trip

· Sleeping bag – for overnight trips

· Beanie & gloves – for overnight trips

· Sturdy walking shoes or tramping boots – Tramping trips

Avoid cotton clothing; although it is hard wearing, it is extremely cold when wet, and it takes a long time to dry.

· Bed rolls

· Tramping packs
