The product of this project should generate a functioning software of a computer from the ground up!
When someone understands the inner workings of a technological device, they give themselves the opportunity to do whatever they want with the device. They can alter it to their liking. Because I’d like to manipulate devices for my own comfort and accessibility, I think that learning how to build a computer & its software would evolve to be useful. With all of this in mind, I hope to successfully build at least a responsive software for the computer.
The initial resources I need to get my project started is to continue the Nand2Tetris course on Coursera. That is the only real requirement for starting the project. Later on, when I get to the hardware section I will have to get physical hardware for the computer (perhaps after the course is over).
I’m choosing this LO because I love to keep going at trying to solve issues. I find it very satisfying knowing that I was able to solve an error or bug. Since I already know that coding the computer chips (Xor, And, Or) was difficult for me at the end of last year, I understand that this year I am likely to run into the same difficulties. Although I know I’ll face these challenges, I want to have resilient, persistent, and adaptable achiever as my LO to enforce the idea that I should stick with everything that I am tackling.
I’m also choosing Insightful and strategic research because I have a keen interest in researching topics that I don’t currently know. I really want a goal of mine throughout the semester to be an efficient (strategic) researcher as well. I am well aware that many of my studies (test study, and technology study) take me a while because I sometimes go off into negligibly important tangents in my Google searches. By being insightful and strategic, I am hoping that I will be able to save my time, and perhaps spend even more time with my family, or transfer the time saved to study for other classes.
I sometimes fall into a loop of spending six hours just invested in my studies. If I had the time I would spend my whole day just doing my school work. I understand this is an odd problem to have, but I truly like to sit at my desk and complete my school work. I look forward to being able to tick the boxes off of my checklist — not just as completed, but as completed exceptionally. I want to try to be efficient with my studies by being a strategic researcher.
