Request a seating chart with student pictures from the teacher so that you can start to learn all the students' names in the class. Spend your first week going around and meeting each student by name.

Please take the initiative to jump in and help kids, even if they say they don't need help. Some kids are embarrassed for classmates to see that they need help.
And, please don't have your phone out at all during class.
