Academic Mentors & Intro to Education Students Supporting Peers in the Classroom
Starting in the fall of 2024, the Academic Mentor Program is joining forces with both Intro to Education and Civic Engagement with the goal of uniting and streamlining our students leaders who are available to support their peers during the school day. The term Educational Leader is the broad term which refers to all student leaders.
Educational Leaders aim to foster intellectual growth, encourage personal development, and support students to achieve their full academic potential. The programs provide trusted, reputable students as supports for others. These student leaders take initiative to offer their insights based on their own experiences to help students problem solve and develop critical thinking skills. They also act as a bridge between students and teachers ensuring students can easily access the support they need to excel. The main goal of these programs is to make a positive peer impact on Wayzata Public School students regarding both their academic achievements and their quality of character.
Purpose Statement: To inspire, guide, and support students through their academic journey.
