AWMS Participates in The Great Kindness Challenge

Students from Anthony Wayne Middle School created kind words of encouragement to give to classmates as well as a Kindness Tree at our front door. The messages of kindness will serve as leaves for our tree! Aligned with the theme of AW's character education program, 180 Days of AWesome, students are continuing to CHOOSE KIND!

One School, One Book

This year, Anthony Wayne's entire learning community (students and adults) all read the same book upon their return to start 17-18 school year. Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt was given to all students and staff. Many important themes were discussed in class, such as the importance of kindness and the acceptance and understanding of differences. These themes supported AW's community message for the year: Choose Kind. This school wide initiative was a great way to bring everyone together!
