October 2017
Registration has begun for all students taking International Baccalaureate exams this Spring. Bills will be sent home during the first week of November. The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) like the Advanced Placement Board (AP) are independent organizations that require a fee for the services they provide. Wayne Central School District plays an important role in making that fee minimal and more affordable for the families in our district. The district pays for each student’s registration fee and a portion of the individual test fee. The fee for families is $93.00 per exam taken. This fee is the same as the fee for Advanced Placement tests. All exams with Mathematics SL as the exception are taken during the second year of the class (senior year).
We encourage all students enrolled in International Baccalaureate courses to continue through both years of the course and take the culminating exams. There are a number of reasons to see these courses through to the exams and two of these reasons are outlined below.
When will you receive a bill?
The International Baccalaureate registers students with the International Baccalaureate Organization in October. Bills will be mailed to families during November and payment is due by the break in December.
Free/Reduced Lunch
Students on the Free/Reduced Lunch plan are eligible for exam assistance from New York State. No payment will be required from these students as long as they commit to taking the exam. If this is the case for your family there will be a spot to indicate on the bill when you receive it.
