Dear Students and Families,

I’m excited to begin another productive school year, and I am blessed to get to know each of you individually. My name is Ms. Chelsea Neal, and I will be your 8th Grade Science Teacher!

About ME: This is my 5th year teaching 8th Grade Science at Wayne County Middle School, and I also taught 7th and 8th Grade Science and High School Biology in Indiana for a short period of time.

My Education: I graduated from Monticello High School in 2007. I initially went to college at Western Kentucky University where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science majoring in Biology (minor in Biophysics).Then, I earned my teaching certificate from Indiana Wesleyan University. Most recently, I completed my Master's Degree in Professional School Counseling at The University of the Cumberlands.

Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. You can access students’ grades and attendance on Infinite Campus´s Parent Portal. If you need help setting it up, you may visit the office to sign the correct form. I hope you will make it a priority this year to sit down with your student(s) to view their assignments and the quality of their work.

As of now, we plan to continue with the Science Fair as we have in the past. The final due date for this project is November 18th in order to begin preparations for the Regional and State Science Fairs. We will begin working on their projects within the first few weeks of school this year!
