Regional General Information for SkillsUSA Region 3 Competition 2020:

  • Dates:
    • Friday, Feb. 7 (Leadership & Occupationally Related Contests) and
    • Saturday, Feb. 8 (Skills Contests).
  • Snow dates:
    • Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22
  • Only FOUR contestants per program per SCHOOL for all SKILLS contests
  • Only FOUR contestants per SCHOOL for all LEADERSHIP contests
  • Top FIVE contestants will move on to the state competition
  • Dress Code is the same as 2019:
    • Leadership & Occupationally Related Contests
      • Students should dress professionally.
      • Students should NOT have holes in their clothing or inappropriate language on t shirts or sweatshirts.
      • Students should NOT have any logo or identifying writing on any apparel worn during the competition.
      • Students can wear SkillsUSA clothing, but it is not required.

    • Skill Contests
      • Students should dress professionally.
        • Students should NOT have holes in their clothing or inappropriate language on t shirts or sweatshirts.
      • Students should follow all safety guidelines: shoes, long pants, etc.

Leadership and Occupationally Related Contests Information:

These contests will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020:

  • ALL LEADERSHIP contests will be held at Area 31 Career Center.
  • Registration begins at 4:30 pm.
  • Enter at Door #17.
  • Contests will be begin by 5:30 pm
  • Dinner items will be available for purchase. Menu to follow.
  • Judges meeting at 5:00 pm in Hospitality room.
  • Hospitality room available for advisors during the competition.
    • Pizza will be available for purchase, as well as snacks and drinks.
    • Open from 6:00 - 8:00 pm

After checking in at Door #17, students and advisors will meet in V106/Harvest for opening announcements.

  • Winners will be announced after all competitors have finished and scores have been checked for accuracy.

Culinary contests will be held at Ivy Tech Community College on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

Registration begins: 7:30 am.

Start time: 8:00 am

SkillsUSA does not provide food at regional contests. Please plan accordingly.

Skills contests which will be held at Area 31 Career Center.

  • Registration begins at 7:30 am.
  • Enter at Door #17.
  • Contests will be begin by 8:30 am.
  • Judges meeting at 7:30 am in Hospitality room.
  • Hospitality room available for advisors during the competition.
    • Pizza will be available for purchase, as well as snacks and drinks.

After checking in at Door #17, students and advisors will meet in V106/Harvest for opening announcements.

  • Winners will be announced following the confirmation of scores. All sites will independently determine how to announce winners.
