Skills Contest - Precision Machining - 2020
Purpose: to evaluate each contestant's preparation for employment in the field of Computer Numeric Control Milling and Turning.
Clothing Requirements:
- Students should dress professionally.
- Students should NOT have holes in their clothing or inappropriate language on t shirts or sweatshirts.
- Students should NOT have any logo or identifying writing on any apparel worn during the competition.
- Students can wear SkillsUSA clothing, but it is not required.
A resume is NOT required for the regional contest.
Equipment and Materials Needed:
Supplied by the technical committee:
- All equipment for the contest.
- Measuring tools, milling tools and turning tools for them to use.
Supplied by the contestant:
- Aluminum piece: finished product will be 1 x 2 x 3 inches
- Please cut a bit big for the milling part.
- It should be at least 1/64 larger all around.
- 1018 CRS 1 ½” dia. x 5 “ long
- Scientific calculator
- Pencil
- Machinery’s Handbook (optional)
- Students do NOT need to bring a resume.
Knowledge Performance:
- This contest will NOT have a written exam at the regional level.
Skill Performance:
- Turning,
- Milling,
- Grinding,
- Measurement, and
- Written test
