Donations
Water Warriors is entirely funded by private donations, which covers the pool rental, snacks for swimmers, and back-up goggles and caps for swimmers who forget theirs.
Water Warriors generally costs between $2000 and $2500 to run each year.
(Transportation costs are covered by the METCO program.)
The program has been funded to date by private donations, contributions from family foundations (family of Coach Barry Schwartz, Gladys Avery Foundation, Floyd Family Foundation) and The Village Bank. Tax deductible donations to support this program on an ongoing basis can be mailed to Wayland High School, c/o Ed DeHoratius | Water Warriors Club | 264 Old Connecticut Path | Wayland, MA 01778.Â
Do you own a business and want to sponsor Water Warriors t-shirts?
In the 2023 session, for the first time, each participant received a Water Warriors t-shirt (see image at bottom of page). The generosity of WHSPO paid for these t-shirts but we cannot rely on WHSPO to fund a recurring expense.
We are hoping to have a t-shrirt sponsor this year, whose business name / logo will be featured on the back of the shirt. The cost should be around $2000, but final cost will depend on the number of participants.
Please consider one or more of the following types of donations:
