Meet your host

Coni Moore

Coní Moore teaches both visual art and English language development classes at Winthrop High School in Winthrop, Massachusetts, and serves as the Lead Teacher for the Creative Arts Department there. She is a previous, Past-President of MAEA, and has participated in several other roles within the organization. She holds degrees in Art History/ Studio Arts, Spanish Language/ Literature, and Educational Administration from the University of Illinois and California State University at Los Angeles. Having served as a former bi-lingual, cross-cultural specialist in California she is a strong proponent for SEI support and training for teachers who work with second language learners. Prior to the pandemic she taught a state-vetted, SEI Endorsement class for art educators several summers in a row at UMass Dartmouth. Coní blends elements of each of the disciplines that she teaches into her instructional programs. She feels that guiding students in seeing the proverbial “big picture” and thereby thinking outside of the box helps them in the comprehension of both the visual or verbal clues that inform meaning and creativity, which in turn aides students in the development of skills that will assist them in becoming creators, artists, empathizers, pattern recognizers, meaning makers, and effective communicators.

About The MAEA Watch Party Discussion Series

The MAEA Watch Party Discussion Series are ten companion discussions facilitated by MAEA leaders, members, and selected guests who bring their unique experiences to each month's topic. Watching the NAEA webinars is not a prerequisite, however doing so will enhance attendees' general knowledge of the topic. For the 2021 - 2022 Watch Party series, MAEA facilitators will engage participants in open conversation, share helpful resources, and promote a supportive space for all to join in. These discussions will relate back to the theme of the NAEA webinars, but will include stand alone content so that they are not exactly the same.

Please note that registration for the MAEA Watch Party Discussion Series does not include automatic registration for the NAEA webinars. The NAEA webinars are a separate offering through the National Art Education Association. NAEA members may register for these webinars at no cost, but there is a fee for non-members. Visit
NAEA Online Learning: Upcoming Opportunities for more information about the NAEA webinars.
