Ms. Pohl

As a child I always loved music whether I was singing, playing flute, listening to music, or playing piano. When I was 9 years old I traveled to the Philippines and Japan and enjoyed the instruments and songs I heard there. In high school I traveled to Europe with a musical group and experienced the beauty of classical repertoire. To this day I enjoy learning about new artists and styles of music and appreciate how diverse music can be. I feel lucky to work with children and make music all day long!

My education includes a Bachelors Degree in flute performance and music education from Ithaca College and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from The University of St. Thomas. Additionally, I have my Orff-Schulwerk certification as well as Kodaly, Dalcroze, and Feirabend training. I have 26 years of music teaching experience, 24 of which have been right here in Wayland.

I am married and have two children. Together we enjoy hiking, biking, going to the beach, kayaking, swimming, going to water parks, hanging out with friends, visiting museums, and playing board games. I also enjoy reading, yoga, tennis, and gardening.
