Joy has been a music educator for 28 years, as both a teacher and an administrator. She is a McClosky trained vocalist who specializes in vocal health and children's voices. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Rhode Island College, a Master's Degree in Creative Arts and Learning from Lesley University and a Master's Degree in Organizational Management from Endicott College. She has worked with all ages and in many educational roles, but her true love is working with elementary age students who are some of the most creative, enthusiastic and vibrant humans she has ever met!

Outside of school, she works with adults and teenagers as a certified professional leadership and life coach, she is an avid hiker, and a motorcycle enthusiast. 

Patrice Buckley is a graduate of the Music Education program at Boston University. There she studied voice, and was part of the Concert & Symphonic Choruses as a featured soloist. Outside of the classical training BU offers, Patrice was the President and Musical Director of the award-winning a cappella group, The Allegrettos. Her youth was filled with music, playing piano from age six, to singing and dancing in her town's show choir, participating in the MMEA All-State chorus, and even touring a summer in Europe with the United States Youth Ensembles and soloing for the Germany performances. She is also a distinguished organist providing music both instrumentally and vocally for many types of services and events. 

Patrice has taught general music classes to students in kindergarten through fifth grade at all three of the Wayland Elementary Schools since 2004. Since fall of 2012, she has been the founder and director of Little Local Vocals, an elementary children's chorus provided through WSCP where young singers not only grow in musicality, but have fun too! While on pandemic hiatus, the last group of 80+ singers was the biggest yet and Patrice is looking forward to resuming chorus again October 2022.
