Fourth and Fifth grade students at Claypit Hill Elementary School have the opportunity to join the Claypit Hill Chorus. Chorus is a musical ensemble for students who love to sing. Students will learn singing technique and will practice singing in harmony. The chorus will perform at Claypit Hill in the winter and at Wayland Sings in the spring.
Chorus meets after school on Thursdays from 2:15 - 3:15 pm.
This is a performance of "Bhombela" by the Happy Hollow 4th and 5th grade chorus. Our Claypit Hill students loved their performance of this piece so much last year, they wanted to try their hand at it. Thank you Happy Hollow for inspiring us with your music! It should start at the right song, but if it doesn't, fastforward to time maker 6:57.
Claypit Hill choristers will be singing this song as one of their solo pieces in the December concert.
Lyrics are below:
We will be singing a song called "With Voices Merry" with the choristers from the other two schools. I will take a video of our chorus singing it during rehearsal so that I can post it for rehearsal. Coming soon!
Lyrics:
With voices merry sing, Tra la la la la la la
Tuneful and cheery sing, Tra la la la la la la
Tra la la la la, Tra la la la la, Tra la la la
This is the Rutgers Children's Choir singing "O Music" by Lowell Mason in 2013.
Claypit Hill choristers will be singing this song with choristers from the other elementary schools, the middle school and the high school - all harmonzing together at the Wayland Sings Concert! We will start learning to sing this song in January, 2026.
Lyrics:
O Music, sweet music, thy praises we will sing
We will tell of the pleasures and happiness you bring
Music, music, let the chorus sing
