Welcome to the Fifth Grade Technology Lessons

Visit this page each week for your at home technology class activity. Most of this will be done on a device of some kind. If you have any trouble accessing the activity, please do not hesitate to contact me. beth_ann_crozier@wayland.k12.ma.us

Technology class is once a week for 45 minutes for grades 1-5, so the work provided should fit into that time frame.

STUDENTS, please RESTART your Chromebooks daily. This will help to ensure they work properly!

Kids recommended Ergonomics Video - With the transition into enrichment learning, you may find your child on a device more frequently. Please take a few minutes to watch the kids ergonomics video so ensure your child's workspace is set up for their safety.

Week of June 15th and June 22nd

Hi Fifth Graders! I cannot believe this is our last full week of school. We have another beautiful week of weather ahead of us. The specialists have organized a fun bingo challenge. You will find a mix of activities from art, library, music, PE and technology. Can you complete all of the squares? That's called a blackout bingo.

I will also post this activity in your TECHNOLOGY GOOGLE CLASSROOM if you'd like to cross off the items online and turn-in your board when you are ready.

Enjoy your week! I miss you!

Digital Pledge

Digital Citizenship Pledge: All classes review the WPS Acceptable Use Policy and the acronym LARK (Legal, Appropriate, Responsible and Kind) which reminds students how to act safely and appropriately online. We use lessons from the Digital Citizenship curriculum from Common Sense Media to support their learning and understanding of LARK. Their curriculum empowers students to think critically, behave safely and participate responsibly in the digital world.

Fifth graders will create and sign a Digital Citizenship Pledge. The Pledge will be used to model and support students as they work online.

Future Digital Citizenship lessons will focus on:

  • What is Cyberbullying?
  • Finding My Media Balance
  • Being Kind Online
