Completing your showcase portfolio prepares you for your family-student-teacher conference, and helps you to develop your metacognition skills and abilities. The ability and skill to metacognate or reflect upon your actions and learning is a critical ingredient to effective learning and the successful application of what you learn.

Complete portfolio reflections with care. Add all pages to clear sheets and then add to the proper section of your portfolio. Remember to use both sides of the clear sheet. Make sure that your showcase portfolio demonstrates your best work and an honest review or appraisal of your learning so far. We will continue to add to this book throughout the year. We will also you the book as a point of reflection and growth. Thank you for your dedicated work on this important part of the fifth grade academic program.
