PREP for the ASVAB

The ASVAB is a timed Multi-Aptitude Test:

    • Arithmetic Reasoning

    • Word Knowledge,

    • Paragraph Comprehension

    • Mathematics Knowledge

There are many different resources to prepare for the ASVAB

Military

Want to serve your Country? Explore different branches of the Military.

WHS does offers the ASVAB Test to Junior's and Senior's. This test is given in December. After taking the test, a Military advisor will come in and discuss your scores. Ask your Counselor for Details.

Why do you want to take the ASVAB during your Junior and Senior Year and want to do your BEST?

    • ASVAB Scores are good for Two Years- For ALL branches of the Military

    • The best chance to obtain a high-test score, as Math and English are fresh in your mind

    • Your Scores not only are used to determine which service you qualify for, but also jobs within the service. High scores mean more career options. Scores can also lead to Bonuses and money for school

    • Some find the student version of the ASVAB easier. If you re-take the ASVAB you will be given a different version- Three different ASVAB Versions.

    • The "Student ASVAB" is a great Career Assessment tool.

REMEMBER!!! Just Because you take the ASVAB does not mean you have to Join the Military.

How do I become an Apprentice?

  • Still in high school- Take courses in math (Algebra & Geometry), Science and Technology.

  • Increase your opportunities, graduate high school.

  • Find a trade that fits you. Talk to your school counselor or explore Job Center of Wisconsin.

  • Once you find a trade- Explore the entrance procedures and requirements. Each trade differs.

  • Then start your career!

Perks of an Apprenticeship:

  • Apprentices learn a portion of their skills in a traditional classroom.

  • They receive most of their training on-the-job, while being paid.

  • Classroom instruction is usually provided through the Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
