The Wautoma Area School District is committed to a guaranteed and viable curriculum. Over the past five years, Wautoma Area School District staff have been collaboratively developing learning targets that are aligned with state and national standards for each curricular area. Student learning and assessment in each course have been designed around those learning targets. With an appropriate core curriculum in place, teachers will be better equipped to monitor student learning, provide feedback, and apply additional supports to meet the needs of all students. These practices will result in student grades that are reflective of what students know and can do within a course.
The WASD Learning Targets provide information about the standards, skills, and knowledge addressed within a specific discipline or course as specified by the WASD Learning Targets. These WASD Learning Targets create consistency in instruction and specify the skills and knowledge to be assessed. Teachers use ongoing assessments to provide detailed data regarding student progress towards meeting the WASD Learning Targets.
