The high school boys soccer team is looking for prospective athletes to compete in the fall of 2024. If you have never played soccer, that is fine. I had starting varsity players in the past that did not play soccer until they were in high school. If you have the willingness to listen, work hard, and fit into the roles we need, then you will be a success. Regardless of ability, a team sport is a great way to get into shape and build the skills and resiliency that will help shape your future.

Boys soccer highlights over the past few seasons.
In 2021, we qualified for the section final game. Lost in OT to go to state against Fort Atkinson.
In 2022, we were seeded 5th out of 18 teams in the sectional. Won our 1st regional game 5-0.
In 2023, we won our first regional game 2-1 vs Freedom.
44 players last season. This allowed us to have three teams so all players had ample playing time.
The JV team had a solid winning record in 2023.
Finished 2nd in conference in 2021 and 3rd in 2022.
Player/Parent Meeting: Wednesday, May 15th at 7pm in Room B141 (my classroom). Park in the West Parking Lot and enter the doors closest to my room.

LENGTH OF Since this is the kickoff to the season, games in the tournament will be played in GAMES: 40-minute halves. The halftime break will be the normal 10 minutes unless there are extenuating circumstances or we are falling behind schedule.
TIES: All games tied at the completion of regulation time will move directly to penalty kicks.
PARKING: Parking is available along Pleasant Avenue (parallel), Mulder Drive (parallel on the east, pull-in on the west), and in the school parking lot. All buses must park in the school lot! No buses are allowed on Pleasant Street.
ADMISSION: Admission will be taken at the entrance to the fields. Admission will be $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for K-12 students. Please notify your fans that we will be taking admission and it is a daily rate!!
UNIFORMS: The lower bracketed team will wear dark uniforms and be designated as the home team, and the upper bracketed teams the light uniforms for all matches during the tournament, except by mutual consent of both coaches. Home team is also asked to provide game balls for their match.

I am hopeful that others will begin to sign up as we get closer but this has already been sent district-wide and to my group of other non-staff that have been helpful in the past and we have lots of openings yet.

I am hoping to have some open practices before the official season starts. This will depend on gym time.
Q&A: How will spring season work with baseball? Currently, we have no games scheduled on days of baseball games. I am trying to have our varsity soccer games after 6:30pm so baseball players can practice after school. This will only be possible when we play at a field with lights. Game challenges will happen if we need to make-up games or when we have the state play-offs (not sure on set dates yet). The overlap should be Three to four weeks depending on play-offs.

We have been approved to run open practices with coaches assistants for 15 sessions. Communication will be mainly through REMIND. Please invite any student that might be interested in experiencing the game of soccer.

Parent and Player Meeting Information
The Waupun School District has decided to move Soccer and Volleyball now to the spring season. I will be updating this site with more details as I get them. Prior to this, I was having a very difficult time filling our schedule. Yesterday, Beaver Dam and WLA decided to also move to the spring season.
When: SOMETIME THIS SPRING - Looks like practice starts March 16th and tournament is the week of May 10th. WIAA allows players to play two sports at the same time.
Where: High School Soccer Stadium Bleachers - Please social distance between families
Notes about the upcoming season:
1st Official Practice is Monday, Sept 7th at 3:30pm - 5:30pm (yes, we will practice everyday Monday - Friday)
Wednesday, Sept 9th will be Picture Day at 5pm. We will have regular practice before.
Saturday, September 12th, we will run inter-squad scrimmages
Tuesday, Sept 15th will be our 1st official game
I am still working on schedules based on new season. Please be wait for final schedule.

Monday, August 19th at 3pm. Players should be prepared with the following; dressed in athletic clothes, soccer cleats, tennis shoes(for indoor/track training), shin guards, and water bottle. Please heed the reminder below with school forms....
According to my Activities Code meeting, before a student-athlete is allowed to practice, they are to turn in the following:

Signed Code of Conduct
