Physical Education

The goal of the early childhood program is to develop gross motor skills, fundamental movement patterns, balance, and spatial awareness in all students by the end of kindergarten. This is accomplished through teaching age appropriate games and activities that focus on the learning targets, while supporting the mission of Waukesha Catholic.

These skills include but are not limited to:

  • Walk forward and backward

  • Jog forward and backward

  • Run (for extended periods of time)

  • Gallop

  • Skip

  • Hop on two feet

  • Hop on one foot

  • Shuffle

  • Balance

  • Throw

  • Catch

  • Kick

  • Strike with long handled implements

  • Strike with rackets

  • Volley

  • Dribble

  • Collect

  • Stretch

  • Roll, twist, turn

  • Dodge

  • Chase

  • Climb

  • Sportsmanship
