Team Manager

Description: Team managers participate as valuable team members by performing a variety of duties that help the programs run most successfully. The work includes attending all games, keeping statistics and accurate scorebooks, and filming games. Team managers are proactive and use organization skills effectively. The teams practice 5 days a week and have some Saturday games.

Art Studio
Category: arts
Description: Art Studio is a space for students who enjoy art to work on projects independently while connecting with peers and forming friendships outside the classroom. Many students use the time to work on art class projects, such as drawings, paintings, digital, or 3-D art. Others work on independent projects of their own design that they would not be able to do in class. Students should not rely on the teacher to introduce new activities or provide extensive materials, although teachers may be able to provide some basic sketch materials when available. A prerequisite for Art Studio is concurrently being enrolled in an art class. Students who choose to be in Art Studio are expected to attend regularly and contribute to the activity’s community of artists. Watkinterns

Description: The “Watkinterns” Athletic Department Interns play an exciting role in generating school spirit and boosting communications for Athletics and Afternoon Activities. This activity meets anywhere from 2-5 days a week, with occasional responsibilities on weekends for athletic contests. Athletic Interns plan and promote campus athletic events, such as pep rallies and spirit games, that bring the school community together. They work with various multimedia platforms to produce social media templates and videos.

Gardening

Description: Students in this activity will work outside to harvest the vegetables in the community garden on campus and work to ready the garden for the winter. Roster size is limited to 10 students, with permission of the teacher. Returning students will have had satisfactory attendance in previous seasons.

Fall Fitness

Description: This class will focus on the fundamentals of strength training. Each training session begins with a brief guided warm up, followed by auxiliary work like core supersets or loaded carries. Then, we focus on the barbell with a concerted effort paid to learning and practicing the core lift of the day. The class will meet in the weight room 2 days per week.

US Fall Recreational Tennis

Description: This activity serves students who are new(er) to tennis and/or just want to play recreationally. Sessions will include lessons, fun instructional games, and intramural play. Experienced players and Varsity players are not eligible for this activity. Experienced and Varsity players should instead sign up for Spring tennis. Limit 10 students.

Description: Students will pedal through exhilarating rides combining high-intensity cardio with upbeat music. The class will offer a dynamic and inclusive environment where students can challenge themselves, improve their endurance, and have a blast with friends. No experience necessary!

Indoor Golf

Description: Indoor golf is an opportunity for students to work on golf swing fundamentals during the winter season. Students will benefit from our planned installation of a golf simulator and an artificial putting green in the big, white tent next to Long House. Students will benefit from the golf simulator by refining swing technique, gaining feedback, and improving consistency. Simulating real courses, the immersive experience enhances decision-making, shot accuracy, and confidence. No golf experience necessary!
