Saving Water at Work

Water Saving Week is all about saving water, and on Thursday 22nd March we will be talking about how to save water in the workplace.

Business accounts for 25% of water use in the UK. It takes 10 litres to produce a single sheet of paper and 5 litres to run a 60W light bulb for an hour, so simple changes in your office can make a huge difference.

Top Tip: Make it simple for your employees and customers to save water by investing in water efficient fixtures and fittings.

Want to find out more about how your water supplier can help you save water and money?

If you're a business, charity or public sector organisation in England or Scotland, you can choose your water retailer - ask your existing retailer (who sends you bills) what water savings they can offer you, through advice, auditing your water use and managing leakage and waste. If they say they can't, approach another retailer and ask them the same question!

Tweet, Insta, Facebook or email your best snaps of your workplace saving water #WaterSavingWeek and #WSWphotocomp to win 5 Waterblades for the taps in your office bathroom!

Waterblade takes a trickle of water and transforms it, making it many times more useful for washing your hands. This enables reductions in both water and energy consumption..

Waterblade does this by taking a trickle of water and shaping it into a ‘Jelly Fish’ shaped, paper thin sheet of water that is as wide as your hand. This is an extremely efficient distribution of the water.

The Waterblade uses a quarter of the water of a standard tap, and half that of a water saving aerator.
