Saving water in your home

sponsored by WaterSafe

Water Saving Week is all about saving water, and where better to start saving water than at home. That's why, on Monday 19th March 2018, is our theme is saving water in your home.

'Saving water in your home' day is sponsored by WaterSafe – the water-sector backed online search facility where you can find trusted and qualified plumbers in your area. Plumbers approved through WaterSafe are trained to meet the strict regulations for installing pipes and fittings which supply drinking water, and can also help homes and businesses become more water efficient.

Top tip: Leaky loos are one of the most common causes of unexpected high water use for consumers in the UK. Keep an eye on your bill and if it goes up check your toilets for leaks. If it needs fixing, get an approved plumber to fix it ASAP!

Tweet, Insta, Facebook or email your best snaps of you saving water at home using #WaterSavingWeek and #WSWphotocomp to win a Waterblade for your bathroom taps!

Waterblade takes a trickle of water and transforms it, making it many times more useful for washing your hands. This enables reductions in both water and energy consumption..

Waterblade does this by taking a trickle of water and shaping it into a ‘Jelly Fish’ shaped, paper thin sheet of water that is as wide as your hand. This is an extremely efficient distribution of the water.

The Waterblade uses a quarter of the water of a standard tap, and half that of a water saving aerator.
