Saving water in your garden

Water Saving Week is all about saving water. Yesterday we talked about saving water at home, but on Tuesday 20th March 2018 it is all about gardens.

Us Brits love our gardens - it's just a shame it rains all the time! Right? Well actually, the UK may be drier than you think. In fact, the UK has less available water per person than most other European countries. London is drier than Istanbul, and the South East of England has less water available per person than some African countries.

Top Tip: By collecting rainwater you’re not only saving water but also preventing that water from just sitting on hard surfaces such as tarmac, or running directly across surfaces and back into rivers too quickly - both of which can contribute towards localised flooding.
