Option 1: Fifth-Year Students
Students who were expected to graduate prior to the current school year will be eligible to take course exams as an alternative pathway to earning credit.
Option 2: Near-Passing Prior Attempts
Student who previously completed a course in either an in-person teacher taught or online course and earned a final score of 55% to 59% (F) will be allowed to take the course exam to determine if they can demonstrate sufficient mastery to pass.
Option 3: Multiple Exposures to Content
Students who have taken and failed a course in both in-person teacher taught and online formats will be eligible to take the course exam as they have been exposed to the content through multiple instructional methods.
Additional Flexibility: Students enrolled in Waterloo Virtual Academy and GRAD Connect will have access to both EdgeEX and "heritage" (the format used in previous years) courses. Students enrolled in heritage courses may complete the prescriptive test as was done prior to the 2025-2026 school year.
