In an effort to obtain parental support in motivating students who are not learning in class, teachers will contact a parent (by personal contact, telephone or written communication) to inform them regarding the situation and the efforts their student must make to progress in their learning. This teacher contact with parents must be made early enough in the quarter so the student has time to succeed if the required effort is put forth. Teachers are to keep a record of their contact with the parents in PowerSchool.
Teachers are also encouraged to communicate with parents, whenever possible, about the positive things students are doing. Special cards will be available in the office for positive communication.
