Would you like to hear about my near death experience with the Great Pacific Garbage Patch? It’s quite a thriller. I’m lucky to be alive. Here's the story of how I could have died.
My name is Max, and I’m a full grown sea turtle. I live in between Hawaii and California. My mom said not to go to far from home even though I’m an adult because of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Tons and tons of toxic things are there. I was hungry so I was going to look for some jellyfish. Finally, I saw two jellyfish, but one looked deformed. Oh well, looked good to me. I slowly sneaked up and ate the first one. The second one didn’t even try to get away.
Well, I guess more for me then. I chomped on it and swallowed it whole. All the sudden, I couldn't breathe. It turns out that the so called “jellyfish” was a piece of plastic from you know where. My vision started to dim, and all the sudden, something was coming straight at me, but I couldn’t move. Then, the thing stopped and something dived in and pulled the piece of plastic from my throat and got back on the giant moving thingy. I swam away with a relief. From then on, I never went near deformed “jellyfish” ever again. I later figured that the thing was a human that saved me.
Well, there you have it. The story of my near death experience with the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
