“Juelz, can you read this story to me?” said Alexis.
“Sure, I’ll read you Jax’s Quest,” Juelz tells his cousin Alexis.
Juelz started reading to Alexis.
"Go away you look like a burnt eel,’’ said the bully.
‘’Mom, why does everyone bully me over my looks?’’
“Everyone bullies you because they haven’t ever seen anyone as special as you,” my mom tells me.
‘’Mom when I get older I’m going to go search the sea for someone who looks like me.’’
My mom says, "Sure whatever you want, Jax.’’
This is the year I said I would go look for people like me. I tell my mom bye and disembark on my quest.
But then she finally tells me why I look like this. ‘’Jax you look like that because when you were little you ventured off to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and didn’t grow right. The garbage patch is a place where trash accumulates between California and Hawaii’s coast. It contains chemicals from plastic particles. It was all my fault for not watching you every second when you were little,’’ my mom said.
"It’s not your fault,’’ I reassured her.
Then I left on my journey. It took me two years to find Franklin. Franklin led me to them-a coral reef filled with other fish that look like me. When I met with the leader of the coral reef, he gladly accepted me to join them and I lived happily ever after.
“The end,” said Juelz.
“Thanks Juelz for reading me this,” said Alexis.
“You’re welcome but always remember to recycle because if you don’t recycle plastic, you never know if it’ll end up in the ocean and cause fish to get bullied because of their looks,” said Juelz.
“Okay I’ll always recycle what I can,” said Alexis.
“Good, but always remember to recycle plastic because it doesn't break down for about 2,000 years,” said Juelz.
