Scholarships

To be considered for GUARANTEED SCHOLARSHIPS, students must: have completed admission application, official ACT/SAT scores, and an offiical high school transcript on file with the Admissions Office by February 1st.

  • If you qualify for the Cherry Presidential scholarship (31 ACT and 3.8 unweighted GPA) you must have a completed admission application, have submitted official ACT/SAT scores, an official high school transcript, and submitted the Honors College application (www.wku.edu/honors/apply) by December 1st. The October ACT exam will be the last ACT accepted for the Cherry Presidential.

  • TopDollar Scholarship Portal is a convenient way to apply for multiple scholarships at WKU www.wku.edu/topdollar. In addition to the scholarships that are awarded by the university based on academic merit, there are numerous scholarships that are awarded by the College Heights Foundation through private funds established by alumni and friends, academic departments, or by community and professsional associations. After a student has been accepted to WKU, they will receive their TopDollar log in information by email. All Top Dollar Scholarship applications must be submitted by February 1st. TopDollar Awards requires full-time enrollment at WKU (12 or more credit hours).

WKU Admissions Information

  • The Hilltopper Guarantee is WKU's effort to close the gap for Kentucky students who may may not otherwise be able to afford it. WKU guarantees 100% tuition for any first-time, first-year freshman from Kentucky who receives Pell Grant assistance and has at least a 3.0 cumulative unweighted high school GPA. Mahurin Honors College

If you would like to apply to the Honors College (www.wku.edu/honors) you must be admitted to WKU before you can access their application (www.wku.edu/honors/apply). This deadline is December 1st.

ACT Scores

  • If you have a 26 or higher on your Math ACT you will receive credit for general education Math.

  • If you have a 29 or higher on your English ACT you will receive credit for English 100.

  • These scores must be sent to WKU through the ACT website to receive course credit.

DiscoverWKU Bowling Green - All DiscoverWKU events will take place @ 7 p.m. local time.

The 2021 DiscoverWKU events will be in-person, with two virtual events in October! During DiscoverWKU, prospective students and their families can learn more about the opportunities available at WKU. There will be an admissions presentation at every DiscoverWKU event, so students can learn more about becoming a Hilltopper. High school seniors will be eligible to win a $500 scholarship of a VIP Visit Experience.

Head for the Hill - all Head for the Hill events begin @ 9 a.m. CST in Diddle Arena

Head for The Hill is a free, open house event that offers a comprehensive look at WKU’s outstanding academic offerings, student activities, and beautiful campus. Sessions are offered to provide valuable information about life on The Hill, and an information expo allows students and their families the opportunity to personally connect with representatives from different academic departments, student services, housing, financial aid, and more!
