Ella was being raised by her grandmother. Her grandmother was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Her wish was to see Ella graduate from high school. Ella transferred to Beacon Academy to be able to do her schoolwork at home and to graduate early. Ella graduated from Beacon Academy and her grandmother had a front row seat at graduation to see Ella walk the line.
SWHS had a student that was diagnosed with cancer and was unable to attend school in-person. He enrolled in Beacon Academy to complete coursework while at the hospital in Vanderbilt and while getting treatment. He made a full recovery and was able to re-enroll at SWHS to graduate with his peers in his class.
Taylor attended GHS and participated in the musicals. As a student, she choreographed and performed in dances for the school musical. As a junior she was offered a scholarship to the Institute of American Musical Theatre (IAMT) in New York City and moved there when she was 16 years old. She enrolled in Beacon Academy as a junior to be able to graduate early to move to NYC. Taylor graduated from IAMT and is now working as a dancer, choreographer, and instructor in NYC and in Congressess around the U.S.
Hannah was a straight A student. She enrolled in Beacon Academy to graduate early. Hannah entered an essay contest for NAACP and won a $1,000 scholarship. She was accepted and attended the University of Hawai'i and Hilo and was on their cross country team.
