Why behind the "ILP":
All WCPS students in grades 7-12 have access to an online college and career readiness program called Xello, which helps students discover the future pathway that’s right for them. In today’s changing world, students need critical thinking and decision-making skills to manage their futures for the long term, and we believe Xello offers this to our students.
As a student builds their Xello profile, they can share it with parents/guardians for feedback and encouragement. Parents/guardians can be one of the strongest educational influences for a student, so WCPS is excited that our ILP platform makes it easy for families to engage in a conversation about the student's ILP and have meaningful discussions about a student's learning in school, their interests, and their future aspirations.
Student Access:
Students can also access their Xello account directly through their WCPS Apps portal.
STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS:
TASK #1: Students will begin by logging in to their Xello account via their WCPS Student Apps portal.
TASK #2: Once on the Xello Dashboard (right side), ALL students will work through the required tasks on their To-Do-List. There are optional lessons listed under the To-Do-List that students may be encouraged to complete.
NOTE:
Students can review (or reset) their responses for the Matchmaker, Learning Style quiz, and Skills Lab quiz as often as they like to improve or change their auto-generated Career Matches.
In any remaining time that students have designated to work in Xello, individual schools are encouraged to explore and incorporate the use of other available tools and features in Xello.
