Primary Talent Pool (PTP) is for students in primary grades (Kindergarten-3rd grade) that have shown exceptional ability and talent in specific areas, including academics, art, and music. Identification of these students is based on teacher recommendations. While the primary talent pool program seeks to identify and develop potential areas of giftedness, students do not automatically enter the gifted and talented program when they enter fourth grade, as eligibility requirements change. While in Primary Talent Pool, students will be provided with differentiated activities that will challenge them and help to remove their learning ceiling. Western Kentucky University also provides opportunities throughout the school year for students to take part in. Click here to learn more about PTP.
