Mr. Calvert

Hello Families!

My name is Chris Calvert, and I am so excited to be your child’s Second Grade Teacher this year! This will be my second year at JRES, as I taught 4th Grade Science previously. This will be my 9th year teaching, and I’m so excited to get back down to primary! I taught Second Grade my first four years in the classroom!

I graduated from Western Kentucky University for my undergraduate degree in 2012, and moved straight to Louisville to begin my career. I started out as a Kindergarten Assistant, and eventually taught second for two consecutive years. I then moved back to Bowling Green to be closer to family, and taught 2nd and 3rd grades and Warren Elementary. While there, I completed my Master of Arts in Education from the University of the Cumberlands in 2017 with an emphasis in Leadership.

My wife and I have two beautiful girls, Hayden (4) and Kennedy (2). I apologize now because I do talk about my children, and use them in examples for discussions! :) Outside of school we enjoy being outside, attending(all of us)/watching (mainly me, but they indulge me….Go Seahawks, Roll Tide!) sporting events, and watching movies together!
