Curriculum
Students in Year 7 and 8 are taught three one hour lessons per fortnight. Students learn the basics and gain confidence in all areas of language learning, including listening, reading, speaking, writing, grammar, vocabulary and translation.
Homework Tasks
Homeworks are set regularly and a strong emphasis is placed on vocabulary learning. Students use Memrise to practise and learn topic vocabulary. This is an website and app which promotes long term memory through repetition of topic vocabulary. In addition, each student has their own paid subscription to https://uk.language-gym.com/ and www.sentencebuilders.com
Assessment
Students are tested termly with regular retrieval checks
