The Innovation Station

Dear Parents,

Our classes work on iSTEAM design challenges in our Innovation Station. As the name indicates, iSTEAM challenges integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math standards, but they also frequently incorporate additional subject areas as well.  Students work collaboratively using criteria & constraints to achieve various goals (ie. build the tallest tower possible with 20 index cards).  

iSTEAM challenges deeply engage students in hands-on problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity/innovation, working collaboratively, and building resilience and persistence in the face of frustration or failure.  Beyond that, they’re a ton of fun!  In short, they offer a lot of bang for the buck!
