Tips for Using Google Classroom
Tips for Using Google Classroom
Knowing your way around our History 8 Google Classroom is important!
Make sure you know where to find the important information you need to know every week to keep yourself organized and on top of due dates for assignments and assessments.
So what will you see under the "Classwork" tab every week?
Important: Student Calendars and Unit Plans
This section will always be at the top of the Classwork tab. Here you will find the current student calendar, the current unit plan to study from, and past calendars.
Unit Plans
Our unit plans are study guides we provide at the beginning of each unit. Here is what you'll find on a typical unit plan:
CA Social Studies standards and goals for the unit
a list of what you are expected to know for the unit final
a list of the assignments to study
terms and vocabulary for the unit
list of possible tests, assessments, or projects
Current Student Calendar
This calendar reflects the same information we have posted in our classroom.
Dates are listed on the actual day an assignment is due or an assessment is happening in class. It is up to you to plan ahead!
The calendar has live links to materials and assignments when appropriate.
The past calenders will always be available, as well, so if you are absent, you still have access to what was done while you were gone.
Current Week, listed by date
This is the place to find copies of materials from class. I'll link slides, movies, copies of assignments, and any other information we used in class. Occasionally there will be a digital assignment here, as well. The most current week will be on top, with past weeks below.
If you are absent, you can print copies of materials from here.
When you are reviewing and studying, you can use linked materials to check your own notes and work from class.
There are no surprises in History 8! You know from the beginning of the unit what we are working on and what is important to study for the unit final.
