On November 2nd, the Wallkill Valley Choir hosted the Experience the Magic show in the new and improved auditorium. Experience the Magic is an opportunity for Disney lovers of all ages to watch their favorite characters perform onstage with an added opportunity to meet the characters before the show to get an autograph and snap a picture!
The night started off with the grand opening - a mash-up of, "Be Our Guest," "You've Got a Friend," and "Under the Sea" - performed by the ensemble along with the characters from each Disney classic. After that, Chloe Geuther, who played Ariel, dazzled the audience with her jaw-dropping solo of "Part of Your World". Nicole Wasniowska, dressed as Elsa, sang "Let It Go," a song about starting her own destiny. Josephine Nardini, dressed as Rapunzel, wowed the audience when she sang "When Will My Life Begin?" After that, Samuel Tobachnick and Cara Masino took over the stage with the well-known love song, "A Whole New World" from Aladdin. Daniel Letelier did not disappoint with his performance of "Un Poco Loco" from Coco . The audience was in awe when Kendra Quinn and her muses performed, "I Won't Say I'm In Love" from Hercules. "Go the Distance", also from Hercules, was powerfully sung by Jesse Diribe. After that motivational number, Anto Ferarri brought the audience back to their childhood with the song, "I Won't Grow Up" from the Peter Pan musical. Addison Smith, dressed as Tinkerbell, was by Anto's side during that whole number. To conclude the first act, Jackson Saltzman, Christopher Delcalzo, and Tyler McCallum on their electric and bass guitars, and Luke Nathan on the drums, played the instrumentals for "Life Is A Highway." With a couple of solos and duets, as well as Ethan Barnett driving around as Lightning McQueen, the audience was energized and ready for more!
After intermission, Emilia Veith, in her sparkly pink Aurora dress, sang "Ever Ever After" from Enchanted, where all the Disney characters walked on the stage reminiscent of what you would see at a Disney parade. Following that, Jackson Saltzman sang "In Summer" from Frozen, where he brought the audience to Olaf's dream of experiencing a summer day. The cute duet of "Love Is An Open Door" from Frozen was then sung by Annette Nathan and Hayden Reid, where they showed how Anna was blinded by the charms of Hans. "Waiting On A Miracle" from Encanto was performed beautifully by Ray Mata, and followed up by Luke Nathan's solo of "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" from Mulan, where he trained his soldiers to be their best. Riley Simon then sang, "How Far I'll Go," from Moana, which showcases Moana's love for the ocean. Next, was a beautiful duet of "Beauty and the Beast" performed by Brigid Collins and Addison Smith while Maya Beikefi and Samuel Tobachnick acted out that unforgettable scene in Beauty and the Beast. Jesse Diribe and Josephine Nardini then sang "At Least I've Seen the Light" from Tangled, entering the stage in a boat similar to when Rapunzel saw the lanterns for the first time. All the princesses then gathered on the stage and began to sing a mashup of "A Dream Is A Wish" from Cinderella and "Once Upon A Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. Each princess gave one child a VIP pass to go the stage. They sang to them, danced with them, and made them feel like the most special kid in the world. To finish off the night, every character and ensemble member gathered on the stage and San along to "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto. Any child, big or small, was allowed on the stage to sing along, as well. That night, overall, was a perfect night, and anyone who was there felt more magical than before they arrived!
