Field Trips

The Smith Planetarium hosts field trips throughout the school year from Aug. to May. Our facility serves all local schools to include public, private and homeschool groups. Field trips are scheduled by appointment, on a case by case basis and are dependent upon availability. Daily field trips may be scheduled Mon. through Fri. between the hours of 8am and 2pm. All scheduled timeslots are on a first come, first serve basis. Admission is $4 per student and there is no charge for faculty/staff. Up to 10 chaperones are allowed per group. The planetarium is also available for group visits, events and meetings. Our facility is fully ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. 

Scheduling

Available dates & timeslots are shown below. Field trips can be scheduled by clicking the link for the desired timeslot and filling out the form. Field trips can also be scheduled by emailing the planetarium HaydenBrewerHaydenBrewer@walkerschools.org. Timeslot availability is on a first come, first serve basis. Field trips are not scheduled when school is out for break or closed for holidays. When scheduling, please include the preferred date/time of visit, name of school/group, grade level and size of group. Be sure to include the choice of program from our catalog below. Any questions or specific details about a program (such as grade level & curriculum standards) can be answered via email.
