The basic unit of a chemical element. A source of nuclear energy. Everything is made of atoms.
protron- a positive electric charge
neutron- without an electric charge
electron- a negative electric charge
to pull to or draw toward oneself or itself
drive or force (an attack or attacker) back or away
Electricity is the set of physical phenomena associated with the presence and motion of matter that has a property of electric charge.
Static electricity develops because of the movement of negative charges from one object to another.
Lightning is a visible electrical discharge from a cloud. This happens when there is an imbalance of charges between a region of the cloud and another surface (usually the ground, a building, another region of the same cloud, or another cloud) that is significant enough to break through air resistance.
A magnetic field is a vector field that describes the magnetic influence on moving electric charges, electric currents, and magnetic materials. A moving charge in a magnetic field experiences a force perpendicular to its own velocity and to the magnetic field.
Electrical conductors are materials that conduct electricity. Best conductors of electricity are silver, gold, copper, aluminum, mercury, steel, iron, sea water, concrete, mercury.
Insulators are materials that resist the flow of electrons over the surface of an object. Best insulators of electricity are rubber, glass, pure water, oil, air, diamond, dry wood, dry, cotton, plastic, asphalt.
Current electricity occurs because of the movement of electrons in the atoms of the conductor.
An electronic circuit is a path made out of electronically conductive material such as metal, with electronic components on the path for controlled flow of electricity of electric charge.
Only one path for electricity to follow. If one wire or a bulb were removed, the circuit will no longer work because there is not a continuous path for electricity to follow.
Multiple paths for electricity to follow. If one wire or bulb were removed, the circuit will still work because there is an alternate path that electricity can follow to continue powering the other bulb.
