The resources below are those that are used for teaching and learning in class time. Each lesson is accompanied with a self-assessment question in the format that will become familiar from NCEA Level 2 exams. Once you have completed a lesson and feel you have a good understanding, have a go at the self assessment question and mark your responses using the assessment schedule provided. Introduction

You will be introduced to the idea of using correct units, and tidying up answers using standard form and rounding to correct significant figures as well as learning how to perform vector calculations, which are a key component of Level 2 Mechanics.

Forces

You will learn to apply Newton's Laws to more complex systems originating from ideas developed at Level 1, including forces acting on inclined planes and the state if equilibrium.

Energy & Momentum

This unit will recap heavily on work, power and the conservation of energy from Level 1 in addition to introducing impulse and momentum, and the conservation of momentum in an isolated system through both elastic and inelastic collisions.

MOTION

You will use your knowledge of forces and their effect on motion to describe and explain the motion of objects moving vertically, in a projectile and in horizontal circle a circle.
