Ask for help from someone you can trust.
Counselling is available either through Andrew or through other agencies. If you would like to set something up please make a booking at the student office with Keri, or flick Andrew an email (afr@waitarahs.school.nz).
There are so many useful resources at the moment when it comes to taking care of our mental wellbeing. If you would like to check them out click on the link below.
A lot of people are struggling at the moment and you may be noticing this. It's ok to be overwelmed with what to do. Remember the most important things for you are to take care of yourself and to be a friend (you don't have to be a councellor).
What should I do?
Check in on your mates and whanau. Send them a dm, a call, or facetime them. It's hard being alone and sometimes we need to know we are not alone
Listen to them without judging. It's ok to struggle and we are all allowed to have feelings.
Take them seriously
Help them connect with someone they trust and help them tell their story. If this is someone around them that's brilliant. If it can't be someone in their bubble there are plenty of helpful links below, or you can email one of the student support team.

It's not easy being a parent. You are the ones who notice what is happening in your young persons life and you are their biggest support network right now. On the link below you can find some useful links, as well as things to look out for in regards to mental health. We want to empower and support you too. Dental health is essential for your overall health. For students under 18yr, it is free. If you need help finding a dentist please let Frances know and we will get you in touch with a clinic.
